Mattice – Val Côté Public Library
Mattice – Val Côté Public Library was established in November 1975, a few months after the incorporation of the municipality in July of the same year. First installed in the premises of École St-François-Xavier, the library moved to its current location in the basement of the Municipal Complex in 1976; a major expansion was done in 1987 doubling its surface.
Over the years, the library has been modernized and has gradually added new services to its customers, including access to the web through the Community Access Program (CAP), borrowing movies on video cassettes and DVD, and audio books, the development of a resource center for children can also serve its young clientele.
The operation of the library is fully computerized and has a collection of over 17,000 books, beyond 200 video cassettes and DVDs and forty periodicals.
