Housing

In addition to the houses that are put on the market and to the apartments that become available from time to time, two organizations offer housing opportunities to those who wish to reside in Mattice – Val Côté.

Missinaibi Villa

There are 13 housing units in this building located on Melrose Street in Mattice, consisting of one- and two-bedroom apartments. There is a mixed ratio of market rent and rent geared-to-income units for seniors, couples, and single individuals.

The Villa is managed by the Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board (CDSSAB). To submit an application or to find out more about their program, please contact the CDSSAB Housing Department in Kapuskasing at 705-335-6179 or (toll-free) 800-667-2143.

Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services (OAHS)

The OAHS's mandate is to provide safe and affordable housing in urban and rural settings. The Corporation has 14 houses in Mattice, located on Gagnon Street and on Chabot Crescent. These homes are rented to people who meet the set eligibility criteria.

The head office of the OAHS is located in Sault Ste Marie. People who wish to apply for housing can do so online.  More information, including Q&As, is available on their website.
