For security reasons, no burial will be carried out in the presence of family or members of the public. Arrangements must be made with the staff of the municipal office. You must purchase a niche or already have one, provide a cremation certificate, the date it will be placed in the columbarium, and pay the fees.

Only a municipal employee can put the urn in the columbarium. There will be no additional charge if the urn is placed in the columbarium during the employee's regular working hours. If it is done outside the employee's regular working hours, an additional charge will be applied.

Reservation of a lot or a niche

You can reserve a lot or a niche in advance. Stop by the municipal office for more information.

Winter Burials

The winter season usually covers the period from December 1 to the Victoria Day holiday in May. Winter burials are not performed, except in case of contagion or epidemics, or as directed by the medical officer of health. The burials planned for the end of the fall will be carried out at the sole discretion of the Municipality, depending on the ground conditions and the weather.

Snow Removal

  • Save and except for ensuring access to the mortuary vault following a funeral, snow removal operations will not be performed during the winter months.

  • During the winter months, urns and coffins will be stored in the mortuary vault pending their deposit in the columbarium or their interment once seasonal weather permits.

  • To prevent frost heave and resulting damages, no snow removal will be done around the columbarium.

Please contact municipal office staff for more information. You can also consult Schedule A of the municipal by-law for cemetery regulations.
